No need for complicated rules for each preset character, just pick one of the
proffessions from my list and give him
human stats.
Modify these stats depending on his race and character class, for example a
gnomish inventor would get -1 strength but +2 initiative.
If the character did not get good stat increases, then give him a good skill,
item or magical weapon etc. Eg the gnomish inventor might get the skill of creating
traps, a healing potion and an enchanted sword.
Magic users get compensated for their crappy stats with spells.
Characters like black orcs who get good stat increases would only get something
like a basic axe or a minor item or skill.
For the first 2 or 3 adventures the GM has the power to change the stats and
items of the character to make him more balanced if need be.
When going up levels, give the character a skill that he has practiced in roleplaying
like barging doors or picking locks etc.
There you go! Now your can make your own characters with ease.
