new settlement location:

* The Local Trader *
(i been using this place since the second game of quest i played - it works pretty well)

This is where your warriors come to sell all the miscellanious crap they found in the dungeon and wanna get rid of. You dont need to roll to find it, every settlement has one.
Also there is a chance the warriors could pick up some rare and exciting items that other warriors have sold here.

If you are the gamemaster, dont tell the players what their equipment is worth, when they wanna sell it, tell them to give an asking price and haggle with them till you both agree on a price.

Haggling Tips:
* If they ask for something less than the item's actual price then agree immediately.
* If they ask for under double what the item is worth, then offer roughly the items price minus the amount they went over it.
EG: they ask $800 for a $700 sword... offer them about $600 for it.
* If they ask for more than double the items actual price tell them to get out and never return!
* If they agree to your counteroffer you must buy it from them.
* If you agree to an offer they make they must sell it to you.
* Haggling is give and take, if they refuse to budge from a price which is way to high then you can either refuse to buy that item or tell them to get out.
* Remember the items selling price is only about a quarter of what it would cost to buy it at a store!

Searching for valuable/rare items:

(You will require the giant treasure tables - downloadable at http://mikeinside.topcities.com/quest)

The player can ask to search for a rare items at the trader.
They require a 12 on the stock roll to find - which means double 6 in a town or an average of 4+ in a city.

1) the player nominates what type of item they wish to find (weapons, armour or magic items)
2) they do a stock roll as normal for finding items.
3) if they get 12-15 or more then randomly determine what item they have found from that category on the giant treasure tables.
4) if they are in a city and roll 16 for the stock roll (tripple 6) then offer them an objective room treasure item.
5) ask way more than the price listed, items like these dont come along very often in a settlement!! haggle if you wish.
6) only one search per settlement allowed
